Postpartum Doula Care provides supportive as well as educational care for expectant mothers and their families. Parents expecting a baby for the first time, mothers on bedrest or expecting twins or multiples, and those with siblings have found it helpful and less stressful to have the support of one of our experienced and knowledgeable doulas support them before, during and after the birth of a new baby.
Before the birth of your baby, a Doula will come to your house to meet with you and your family (your prenatal consultation) to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Your Doula will also go over your personal educational packet that covers important information concerning maternal and infant care, breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, breastpumps and nursing mother supplies, parenting and much more.
Our Doulas will help you to prepare for the arrival of your baby by going over comfort products, nursery needs and assist you with your needs. She will also provide support and education on breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, baby care, sibling care, parenting, and most importantly mother care. Our Doulas will provide you with the very important nurturing and emotional support you need during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. For our families needing support once their Doula care is finished, we provide nanny search assistance. We also provide long term support for families with twins or multiples.
Mother To Mother Doulas are all experienced in assisting families during the postpartum period and are mothers themselves. They are fully certified and insured through local and national organizations. Our Doulas have successfully completed the Postpartum Care Provider certification course and are certified in Infant and Child CPR and First Aide, and as breastfeeding counselors. It is with the intention of providing the best possible care for your family that we do extensive criminal and child abuse background checks, and health appraisals on each Doula as well. Our Doulas receive on-going support and attend educational conferences to keep their information and certifications current.
